Welcome to the News Archives! 8/20/04 Sombrance's Eli Now Available Through Flaming Fish Music The band is excited to announce that you can now purchase the Eli ep at Flaming Fish Music. Click here to visit their secure online store. Additionally, Flaming Fish will be stocking Rick's Ishur Ninku CD entitled "Conteplation". Flaming Fish is an excellent Christian source for Underground/Dark/Electronic/Goth music. Sombrance is excited about the partnership. 8/3/04 Sombrance live outside... twice! Sombrance will be playing at the RiverRock Festival on Saturday, August 28th at Frontier Park in St. Charles, MO. There will be thirteen bands and the music goes from noon til 10 PM (Sombrance plays from 3-3:30 PM). Admission is free and there will be concessions. Please make plans to attend! The second Sombrance performance will be at the Jesus in the City Festival at the Church of God at Baden in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, September 18th. Sombrance is proud to announce that they will fill the opening slot for The Violet Burning on April 5th at the Church of God at Baden in North St. Louis. The guys in the band are honored to open for such an incredible band. Visit our secure online store and order your copy today! 11/18/03 Rick Mester releases second Ishur Ninku CD Rick Mester has released his second Ishur Ninku CD entitled "Shiva" through Zophim Records. Shiva has a special guest appearance by Zophim Records artist Angel Poe. The artwork and layout was created by Rob Steel. More info here! 9/25/03 New samples from Eli are available! Check out the Media page for two new samples from the Eli EP. "Wasting Away" and "Back and Forth" are featured for your downloading pleasure. 8/14/03 Sombrance to produce Worship CD Wade and Rick will be producing a worship CD for the Church of God at Baden. In addition to producing and engineering the CD, Sombrance will contribute two songs. Other artists will include Chris Shepherd Band, Angel Poe, 5 Story Fall and Pastor Don Sharp. The CD will be all original worship songs performed acoustically. It is our hope that this CD is an encouragement to all who hear it. 5/30/03 Jimmy P. Brown II to play bass on Eli Sombrance is proud to announce that Jimmy P. Brown II is tracking all the bass parts for the upcoming EP "Eli". As most of you know, Jimmy is also in the process of mixing the entire EP. We are excited about the opportunity to work with Jimmy again and appreciate his input into our music. 5/08/03 Help the Less Fortunate! Sombrance has teamed up with The Church of God at Baden in an effort to help the less fortunate. The band will be donating 20% of all Sombrance merchandise sales to the homeless ministry at the Church of God at Baden. The Homeless ministry includes the food bank and clothing ministry as well as the actual homeless outreach. Q - When can I see Sombrance live? A - Now with the completed lineup, the band is rehearsing and preparing for shows. For booking, please email us at rick@sombrance.com. Q - When will I get to buy "Eli"? A - Right HERE and right NOW! Q - Can I get a Promo copy of "Eli" to play on my radio show or review in my magazine? A - Absolutely, we have received quite a few requests for these and will be as accommodating as possible. Requests for promo's can be made to merchandise@sombrance.com. We do ask that you give us some verification of your media center. Q - I'm in a band and I'm interested in having Rick or Wade perform/write/produce or otherwise contribute to my recording... 09/25/02 Sombrance announces departure from Indie Dream Records Sombrance has officially parted ways with label Indie Dream Records. With the departure from IDR, the band is now free to pursue their future which includes the release of their four-song EP entitled "Eli" and a full length CD scheduled for early 2004. Band founder and singer Rick Mester had this to say... "It's really a bright new day for us and we couldn't be happier! We have evolved as a band and are quite pleased with our new material. Sombrance fans should be elated about the future!" Zophim Records set to launch Sombrance is set to launch Zophim Records in January 2003. Zophim Records will provide a launching pad for several music and video projects. The e-commerce secure Web site will feature releases from Sombrance, Unicks Face, Ishur Ninku, Wade Baird, Caustic Restraint, and video's from Mordant Media. Other acts will follow. The philosophy of Zophim Records is simply to provide independent entertainment to fans at reasonable prices.
